Death of Mrs. Henry Duey
The critical illness of Mrs. Henry Duey announced in the JOURNAL from time to time, terminated in her death Saturday evening last. The condition of the deceased for several days previous to her death was such as to apprise her frineds that the end was nigh, and when she passed peacefully away, it found them prepared for the worst. Her circle of friends was large, and sorrow fills each heart for the death of this estimable woman. During her life she endeavored to follow the teachings of her Master and to do unto others as she would be done by, and while her friends mourn her departure they should be comforted by the fact that she has gone to meet her reward. At the time of death she was 58 years, 8 months, and 3 days. A husband and several children mourn the loss of a faithful wife and a kind and loving mother, and in this hour of their deep bereavement they have the sympathy of all. The funeral was held from her late residence on West Allen Street, yesterday morning, services being held in the Mohlder church, Upper Allen township. Interment in the graveyard in the rear of the church.
I have no connectin to the Duey family but found this in an old newspaper in the back of a painting - thought it may help someone out.
