THIS INFORMATION HAS BEEN GATHERED IN AN EFFORT TO LOCATED ALL THE CHILDREN, AND SPOUSE(S) OF COL. AMBROSE DUDLEY B. 1649, WITH VERY LITTLE SUCCESS. Jemima and had Arthur AND Robert b/a 1676 who m. 1-Elizabeth & had Robert b/a 1696 who had Henry, Amy & Isabella with 2- Eleanor had dau. Eleanor. AND Thomas b. 1678 who married Elizabeth Meechan and had Peyton b/a 1698 m. Mary & Thomas b/a 1700 who m. Joyce had Lucy, & Gwynn who m. Mary E. Hale and had Thomas, & John who had Betty.
B. JAMES DUDLEY 1659-1702 m. 1) Mary WELCH 2) Elizabeth 3) Ann Fleet dau. of Wm FLEET, with Mary WELCH he had James b/a 1679 (who had James who m. Jean STAUNTON) and Robert (who had Robert). With Elizabeth he had Sarah and Elizabeth, and with Ann Fleet he had Mary DUDLEY b. 2/24/1692 (who married John BERRY on 1710) and William DUDLEY b. 8/12/1698 d. 1/15/1760 (who married Judith JOHNSON and had Anne b. 1728 and Robert DUDLEY b.1730 who married Joyce and had Gayle, Joyce, Robert, Ambrose, Peter, James and William).

A. MAJOR ROBERT DUDLEY, SR. b. 1653 d. 1692 Sheriff of Middlesex Co.m. Elizabeth RANSOM b. 1665 d. 12/1718 d/o George RANSOM gdau/o Peter RANSOM -they had Robert, Jr., George, Avarilla & Elizabeth.
B. COLONEL AMBROSE DUDLEY b. 1649-d. aft.1712 buried at Kingston Parish, Gloucester, VA. Information from "Magna Carta Line of Descent". Vestryman of Kingston Parish, VA in 1667. Gloucester Justice 1698. Speaker of the House of Burgess 1710-1712. Found in "Colonial VA Register. Gloucester Burgess in 1702. He m. 1) Judith 2) Mary; w/ Judith he had AMBROSE, JR. b. 1677 (who m. Judith SCOTT b. 1682 who was sister of Col. John SCOTT, and they had Ambrose, III who m. Eliza and Dorcas who m. William ROUNDTREE) and JUDITH b. 1672 (who m. in 1703 Col. John SCOTT 1672-1729 who was Commissioner of Peace for New Kent Co. in 1714 & Sheriff in 1716, he attended St. Peter's Parish), they had Joseph SCOTT b. 1704, Edward SCOTT b. 1706, Samuel SCOTT b. 2/6/1708 (who had John SCOTT b/a 1742-d/a.1841,who had Cosby SCOTT b. 1768-d/a 1850), Judith SCOTT b. 1710 (who married Peter WARE b/a 1710 d. 1741), Mary SCOTT b. 1712, Sarah SCOTT b. 1714, Martha SCOTT b. 1716 (who married John GARRETT IV b/a 1700) and finally Jesse SCOTT b. 5/1718 succeeded his father in the county offices. With wife 2) Mary ____? he had MARY b/a 1689 (who m. about 1709 Valentine WARE b/a 1689 and had Peter WARE 1710-1741 who m. Judith SCOTT, Edward Ware b. 1713, Jane Ware b. 1716, Nicholas Ware b. 1718 and Henry WARE b. 1720, other children unknown), CAPT GEORGE who married Judith ARMISTEAD (had William m. Jane BALLARD in 1745 and George who married Dorothy TABB and had Phyllis, Joseph and Stephen.
Note: Judith SCOTT was Aunt of Gen. Charles SCOTT, one of Washington's staff officers and later Gov. of KY, according to the R. Bolling Batte Papers from the VA State Library and Archives. Peter WARE and Judith SCOTT’S children were: Jane, John (who had Judith who married Robert CARY), Sarah, Judith and Henry. After Peter's death she married (#2 m Samuel JORDAN on 2/29/1745) and they later moved to KY.

Note: After Major Robert DUDLEYS’S death, Elizabeth m. Robert DUDLEY, JR. b. 1675 d. 3/9/1709 and had Ranson DUDLEY. Robert DUDLEY, JR. was cousin of her first husband, no further information on his line, but this same Robert DUDLEY, JR. made a deposition at age 26 on March 1701 that he heard George WOLBY say he gave all his property to Elizabeth, wife of Robert DUDLEY. She remarried a third time to ? ELLIOTT and had 3 more children. Her eldest son and heir, Robert DUDLEY, JR. was suing in 1739 for her estate.
