I am at one of my brick walls. Looking into my wife's grandparents. Here is what I have:
HENRY MOTZ, b. bef. 1874 prob. in Germany, m. abt. 1815 in Dennysville, Maine to Nancy Anna Carter, b. 1792 in Cape Code, Massachusetts, daughter of James and Deborah (Newall) Carter. Henry d. 1 June 1822 in East Machias, Maine. Nancy survived him and remarried. Henry and Nancy had 4 children:
i. Henry J. Motz, b. 1 April 1816 in Bicton, New Brunswick, m. abt. 1837 to Susannah Wilder, b. 13 December 1815 in Dennysville, Maine. Henry d. 7 June 1902 in Pembroke Maine.
ii. James C Motz (see below and line I am following)
iii. Edward Motz, b. abt. 1820 in Dennysville, Maine, m. abt. 1840 to Rebecca Dudley, b. 9 June 1824 in Dennysville, Maine. Edward d. bef. 1859 in Shapleigh, Maine. Rebecca remarried her half-brother-in-law, the sone of Nancy Anna Carter and her new husband.
iv. Elizabeth Motz, b. 1 June 1822 in Dennysville, Maine, m. abt. 1844 to James L. Lyons of Gardiner Maine. Elizabeth d. 28 April 1907 in Dennysville, Maine.
JAMES C. MOTZ, b. 7 March 1818 in Dennsyville, Maine, m. 1st abt. 1839 to Nancy Dudley, b. 20 August 1819 in Pembroke, Maine, daughter of Benjamin and Sarah (Blackwood) Dudley. Nancy d. bet. 1870 and 1880. James m. 2nd Eliza (______) Pottle, b. June 1827 in Maine, wid. of George Pottle. James d. 29 June 1893 in Pembroke, Maine. James and Nancy had 8 children:
i. Emily N. Motz, b. 12 April 1840 in Dennysville, Maine
ii. Ambrose Charles Motz (see below and line I am following)
iii. Raymond P. Motz, b. June 1844 in Pembroke, Maine, m. 1869 Sarah L. Wilbur, b. 19 September 1850 in Pembroke, Maine. Raymond d. 8 August 1901 in Pembroke, Maine.
iv. Eliza J. Motz, b. abt. 1846 in Pembroke, Maine.
v. Ella Althea Motz, b. abt. 1849 in Pembroke, Maine, m. Benjamine H. Hatton.
vi. Abbie L. Motz, b. abt. 1852 in Pembroke, Maine.
vii. George E. Motz, b. October 1854 in Pembroke, Maine, m. 1874 to Loretta A. Bailey, b. May 1853.
viii. Freddy C. Motz, b. April 1860 in Pembroke, Maine.
AMBROSE CHARLES MOTZ (also CHARLES AMBROSE MOTZ), b. abt. 1842 in Pembroke, Maine, m. abt. 1867 to Emma S. Stoddard, b. 5 November 1842 in Pembroke, Maine, daughter of Nathaniel and Lydia Bartlett (Homan) (Phipps) Stoddard. Emma d. 12 June 1931 in Lawrence, Massachusetts. Ambrose was a sailor and may have been lost at sea. Ambrose and Emma had 3 children:
i. Caroline Emma Motz, b. 6 May 1869 in Pembroke, Maine, m. 1 July 1896 to Edgar Henry Vose, b. 13 March 1876 in Lawrence, Massachusetts. Edgar d. 20 October 1925 in Lawrence, Massachusetts. Caroline d. aft. 1948
ii. Fred Ambrose Motz (see below and line I am following)
iii. Walter B. Motz, b. November 1879 in Pembroke, Maine, m. abt. 1904 Margaret ______, b. abt. 1884 in Scotland. Walter was resident in 1920 in Cambridge.
FRED AMBROSE MOTZ, b. 15 September 1874 in Pembroke, Maine, m. 1st 9 October 1897 Laura Emma Cushing, b. February 1874 in Pembroke, Maine, daughter of Elijah and Lavina Gardner (Morgan) Cushing. Laura d. 29 April 1903 in Pembroke, Maine. Fred m. 2nd 22 October 1910 in Lawrence, Massachusetts, Emilie Ainsworth, b. abt. 1880 in England. Fred d. 29 June 1913 in Lawrence, Massachusetts. Fred and Laura had 2 children:
i. Carrie L. Motz, b. May 1898 in Pembroke, Maine.
ii. Berton Ambrose Motz, b. 17 June 1901 in Pembroke, Maine.
Any help on any of the above, even if not in the line, would be much appreciated.
