Hiram Dudley was born in 1810 in Plattsburgh, NY, and in 1816 came with his parents, Zina and Susan D. Dudley, to Castile, Wyoming Co., NY. In 1832 he was married to Miss POLLY HORNING of Pike, Wyoming Co.,NY, daughter of Robert and Elizabeth Horning. Mr. Dudley is a farmer and mechanic. He has one son, Homer Dudley, and lost one in the civil war. His father was constable and collector of Castile, Wyoming Co.,NY, for twenty years, died in 1871, aged eighty-nine years.
