I am interested in the adopted daughter of William and Sara Dudley. Her name was Laura Bell Tracy. I understand that her name was changed to Bessie upon adoption. Laura Bell was born March 1877 in Colorado. Her mother, Luranie Umphries Tracy, died shortly after giving birth and the father, Leonard Ross Tracy, gave the baby girl up for adoption, then took his other 3 children back to Illinois. Bessie's married name may have been Thomas, although Leonard Tracy's obituary in 1910 listed her as Bessie Righter of Pueblo, Colorado. I can be reached at:
