They migrated to Goliad cty, TX where thier daughter Mary Culp married my gt grandfather JAMES HANSFORD SAWYERS after the Civil War. She birthed 3 children, she died, and JAMES remarried. Mary Culp's brother John Henry Culp (also bn at Pettis, MO) moved with James into the Nueces Strip of TX where one could still "open range ranch". John Henry Culp was known to have kept BAD COMPANY, most of whom were his in laws. In the 1870's, after a shoot out in San Antonio, John Henry Culp found it "convenient" to remove to the NM territory.

Recently received (and treasured) I have a tin type photo of my gt gt grandmother Mary Culp whom I am told is either Spanish, Indian or a combination of the 2. The Dudley/ Culp woman with her children Mary and John also exists in a tin type image of which I have a copy also!

Hope you find this interesting!
