Hi Mike,
My great-great grandparents, PATRICK ALEXANDER and CATHERINE MEARES DUCKETT, of Ireland, emigrated to Chesterfield, England, in the mid-1850's. My great-great grandfather mentioned an ELIZABETH DUCKETT and WILLIAM BALL in the pages of his journal of 1876. Would you know if we are from the same family? Another coincidence is that their son, RICHARD,my great-grandfather, after emigrating to the U.S. in 1870, married AGNES JANE BALL.
There are three cousins in our family who are attempting to trace our family back to Ducketts Grove in Co. Carlow, Ireland. JAMES DUCKETT seems to be our possible ancestor. His home is still standing in Tramore, Co. Waterford, Ireland.
Many thanks for any information you may be able to give me.
