Chris,
I love this story! It has always been a source of teasing in our family about how the Ducketts like to eat. Maybe it is in our blood.
My g.grandfather was born in 1846 at Nangor Castle in Clondalkin, Co. Dublin while Patrick and Catherine were employed there. In the information the National Archives in Dublin sent me Patrick's last name was listed as Duck. It sounds like at one point the family changed it to Duck and then back again.
Also, I was reading the posting about the McCleaf's and Adams Co. I live in Gettysburg and I know Bill McCleaf and his brother, Don Myers. One was raised by their grandmother, so that is why they have different last names. Don will be 84 and Bill is older than Don. Would you be related to them?
Thank you for all you sent me. I hope we find our families are connected and can solve this puzzle.
Loretta
