2 DUCK lines
I have a strange situation. I have been doing research for years on my grandmother's family, 2 DUCK ladies married the same STARKEY man,
Malissa was very ill during her pregnancy with William Stokley Starkey [my great grandfather]and died very shortly after his birth. Her sister Aphina was living with her and her husband Savern Donelson Starkey helping to take care of her during this time. Aphina's husband had died earlier leaving her with two small children. With Malissa's death in July 1875, this left Savern with two small children as well. Savern and Aphina were married December 22, 1875.
Alphina [Sally Arfene, Arphina, Aphina] her maiden name was Duck, first marriage was to Moses Bird second marriage was to Savern Donelson Starkey after Mr. Bird died, she used the name Scelee Arfano Bird on the Marriage Record from Ozark Co., MO. After Savern's death she married a man named Byrd, not believed to be any relation to her first husband. Buried in the Mc Fadden Cemetery, Dover AR. Names on the third Marriage Record were M. C. Byrd and C. A. Starkey.
I show that these sisters were the children of John Jackson Duck and Louisa Jane Briggs. Does anyone agree with this information?
My second problem is that my husband's niece is the daughter of Lawrence Warren Unger 1943 to 1980. His father was Lawrence R. Unger married to Margaret Duck, I think they may have been born in the early 1920's. All of this family is dead and we cannot find anything on them at all. We are trying to see of these 2 DUCK lines are related. Any help would be great. Thanks
