Heart Condition that plagues Sullivans
An added note on my previous message on Sullivans.IHSS or cardiomyopathy seems to run in the Sullivans. It develops in puberty and progressivley worsens.THe septum becomes enlarged and one leaflet of the aortic valve does not close properly which allows unoxygenated blood to flow back through the heart. This leaflet eventually becomes calcified and has to be replaced.I had surgery for this condition almost two years ago. There were complications and I was in a coma for over a week.
