My gggrandfather's name was also Henry Dublin. He and his wife Ricka came to America around 1847 from Lissa, Prussia. Henry's tombstone in Charleston, SC and the 1850 census state that he is from Lessau, Prussia, but I have not been able to find any reference to Lessau. Ricka's tombstone states that she is from Lissa and in a 1947 World Atlas I found that it is now called Liszno, Poland.
Henry's given name was originally Tzvi. They were Jews and I had a rabbi to interpret the Hebrew on his tombstone and it said that Tzvi was the son of Yitchak. The rabbi interpreted the last name as "Dublin", so if it was shortened, I have no evidence of it. Henry and Ricka had four children: Abraham, Samuel, Julia and Nathan, my great Grandfather. I'm interested in any information on the Dublins.
