William Dube, 45, a well known French-Canadian resident died at his home on Meadow Street at 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon after a nine days' illiness with Spanish influenza.He was born in New Richmond, P. Q., Canada, June 21, 1873, was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Dube and then came to Willimantic about 15 years ago.He had been employed by the New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroad Company for several years, at the time of his death holding the position of night yard clerk.During his residence here Mr. Dube made many friends who were deeply grieved to hear of his death.The deceased was a member of St. Mary's church and also was affiliated with the St. Jean Baptiste Society and Lodge No. 1440, L. O. O. M., of this city.He is survived by his wife, five children, Alice, Euclide, Viola, Rosealma and Florina Dube of this city, six brothers, Alexander, John, Alfred, James and Richard of New Richmond, P. Q., Canada and Samuel of Waterbury, this state, two sisters, Mrs. Calice Fontain of Mongton, P. Q., Canada and Mrs. Joseph Cournier of New Richmond, P. Q., Canada.The funeral will be held from the late home Monday morning at 9:30 with services following at St. Mary's church at 10 o'clock.Interment will follow in St. Joseph's cemetery.The arrangements are in of charge of Hurteau-Bosse, Inc.
