James,

I do not have any genealogical info on Herbert Drury, but from Total Hockey I can tell you about his hockey career. He played first in Oshawa, Canada before moving to Pittsburg where he played for the Pittsburgh Yellow Jackets of the US Amateur Hockey Association. In 1925 when Lionel Conacher, a teammate on the Yellow Jackets and later NHL Hall of Famer, started the Pittsburgh Pirates of the NHL, Drury joined along with four other Yellow Jackets (one named Milks, your relative??) When the Pirates went broke in 1929 the team was moved for one year to Philadelphia as the Quakers. Then it closed. Drury and Milks both moved to Philadelphia for part of the season.

Drury played in the 1919-20 International series and in the 1924 Olympic Games for the US, suggesting he was a citizen. The US took the silver with Drury scoring 22 goals in five games in an incredibly high scoring tournament. None of his Yellow Jacket teammates were on the teams.

If you get anymore info I would love to find the genealogical connection.

Michael Drury
