Thanks for your reply. I have seen references to Thomas the shoemaker in the Eagle parish records but don't know if he is connected to my Drurys. He may be a brother of John Drury who also died in Eagle in 1801.
The parish records state that the parents of my oldest Thomas were John and Elizabeth (Colton) Drury, but without anything else to connect to those parents I'm being a little cautious about declaring another generation found. (The marriage record for these two says that John is from Carlton-le-Moorland.)There is a reference to John Drury and Thomas Colton (his brother in law I believe) being sherifs in Lincoln in 1792. So, if John is actually my ancestor, maybe there is a closer tie to Lincoln than I originally thought. (There is a Drury Lane between the Cathedral and the Castle in Lincoln!).
