No new messages on this line since 2001.
Stephen Drury b 1767 probably in Leonardtown, St. Mary's MD
a watchmaker/jeweler living in Huntingdon, PA from abt 1785-1810. Then moved to New Alexandria, Westmoreland Co, PA. Lived for a short time in Blairsville, Indiana, PA, but moved downriver to Freeport, Alexandria, PA where he also had a jewelry store.

Stephen died after 1850 in Freeport, Armstrong Co, PA.

Either he or his wife or later dau-in-laws had Auburn Red Hair.

I am trying to trace the source of the beautiful dark red hair that is in my family line.

A document, WWI Draft Card for his great grandson Harry Stephen Drury Jr. b 1895 Ford City,l Armstrong d Feb 1974 Salinas, Monterrey CA LISTS that he had blue eyes and AUBURN HAIR.

My Martha Jane Drury b 1843 Blairsville, PA d 1904 Natrona, Allegheny Co, PA m James M. Trenary.
She was a dau of Stephen Alexander Drury , a gdau of James D. Drury b 1798 Huntingdon, PA, and thus a great gdau of Stephen One. She had the dark red hair.

Her dau, two grandcchildren and many desc also had the red hair gene.

Maybe tracing the red hair will help me to find other Drury who have it?

Do any of the Dury of Leonardtown, MD have the red hair, or did it begin with one of the mothers and wives of Drury in PA?
