Dear Jody,
I had an uncle named, Henry Drury b. ca. 1740 in VA, he had a brother named, Mills Drury b. ca. 1746 VA, who married Delilah Duke, and there was another brother, named Charles Drury, Jr. who was perhaps the eldest child. These men were sons of Charles Drury who was probably born in Nansemond Co. VA ca. 1715. Their mother's name was Martha. I don't know anything more about Charles & Martha, except they moved to Granville Dist. NC (ca. 1754) and then to Edgecomb Co., NC before 1760, when Charles Drury b. ca. 1715, died. I realize that your John Henry Drury would have been more than 1 generation removed from this family, if he is a descendant, but I would sure look in that part of NC. I'm not sure how long Charles Drury, Sr.'s sons stayed there. Charles & Martha Drury's daughter Elizabeth Drury Duke and her husband moved to SC in 1779, it's possible that some of her brothers accompanied them, but I don't know for sure. Anyway, I thought I'd pass this along to you. Good luck to you in your research, and don't give up! Morrie Manley in Nacogdoches, TX
