Donna,

Wells Drury was the son of Squire Thompson Drury of the Drury/Reynolds line which traveled from PA, to KY, to Mercer Co., Ind, to Rock Island, IL. This line is associated with Daniel Boone's family (Daniel's father was Squire Boone.) The website http://freepages.history.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mygermanfamilies/Drury.html
says Wells family moved West to Oregon where his parents died along the trail and hs family spread out.

In the 1880 CA Census is a John R. Drury who was born in 1851 in IN and his parents are from KY. He may be Wells brother. Listed after him in the census is a likely son, Sanford, born in IL. Another son, Arthur, was born in Shasta, CA in 1872.

Another Arthur William Drury (sometimes William Arthur Drury) was in the 1910 CA census and had registration cards for WW1 and WW2. He was in Goodyears Bar, Sierra, CA with a wife Ruth for many years.

The dates, names and locations al suggest that these men may be related, but I don't have solid prove yet.

Michael Drury
