My dad used to go deer hunting with Max Drury of the brick company. I grew up in the Champlain Islands and all the old bricks that were found lying around were DRURY bricks. I have collected a half dozen or so which are different vintages ranging from quite crude to the most modern. There was an a story about the brick company in the autumn 1954 issue of Vermont Life Magazine. I had a brick on my desk at work for many years, and my son now has it on his desk. It's a great subject of conversation.
I'm trying to encourage other Drurys to have their DNA tested so that we can "prove our collective lineage.
