Sarman Drury Sr. Wed, Nov 10, 2004 Sarman Mills "Capt. Sam" Drury Sr., 72, of St. Simons Island died Thursday, Nov. 4, 2004, at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick. Survivors include five sons, Sarman Mills "Chip" Drury Jr. of Dover Bluff, Charles Dale Drury and Mark Drury, both of White Oak, Thomas Drury of Atlanta and Calvin Drury of Orlando, Fla.; a daughter, Angela Drury of Brunswick; two sisters, Jorene Lavender of White Oak and Elsie Jones of St. Simons Island; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Drury was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Mills Drury and Fredrica Sarman Drury of White Oak. The family will hold a memorial service at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, 2004, at the Waverly Methodist Church with the Rev. Raymond Drury officiating, and requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society. The Camden County native had lived on St. Simons Island for most of his life. He was a graduate of the Georgia Military Institute and retired as a railroad conductor from the St. Marys Railroad. He was a commercial fisherman and a Charter Boat Captain at Sea Island. He was of the Methodist faith. Chapman Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Notify Administrator about this message?
