My father, Bernard Charles (born Bernard Anthhony in 1921) was not an orphan. His father(also Bernard), I have not been able to find any info on, so it is possible he was a Polish orphan. I believe my grandfather married Marie Spangler in Luzerne Co. around 1912? and it is possible they lied about their ages. I do know my grandmother claimed to have taken care of herself from the age of 13, and supposedly left her home to avoid this Draper fellow... :-) Marie (Spangler) Draper however had a vivid imagination at times methinks... I will dig around through some old papers and photographs to see if I can find anything.
