Spencer & Hannah A. Drummond
Posted by: Lee Carlson Date: May 29, 1999 at 19:30:49
  of 1873

The following inscription was found on a tombstone in the Clarke family graveyard in Chesterfield, VA:

Drummond, Sarah Ann
"To/ The Memory Of /Sarah Ann Drummond/ Daughter of/Spencer & Hannah A. Drummond/Born in Norfolk on 5th April 1821/ and Departed This Life at Petersburg/The 28th of September 1825/ Aged 4 years 5 Months & 25 Days"

( the stone is broken and the verse is virtually illegible)

I am to figure out why she would have been buried in this Clarke familiy's cemetery. There is another Drummond / Clarke connection. Thomas Fletcher Drummond, son of Richard Hill Drummond and Nancy (Ann) Fletcher m. 21 Dec 1825, Eliza Clarke, daughter of William Clarke amd Martha Rowlett who are the oldest persons buried in this family cemetery.

Who were this Spencer and Hannah Drummond? My guess is that they must be related to the Accomac Co. Drummonds.
