Joseph Drummond, born in ?Ireland? or ?Scotland?
Posted by: Rebecca Drummond (ID *****5759) Date: November 10, 2009 at 06:26:11

Through DNA I have recently found that our Joseph Drummond who is on record as having been born in Ireland may possibly be Joseph Drummond Mac-Gregor born in Scotland.

Joseph Drummond and his wife Catherine (a/k/a Katherine, Kate, Mary Catherine, and Caffries) emigrated from Northern Ireland to the United States after 1837 with sons Thomas Drummond b. 1834 in ?Ireland? and Joseph b. abe 1847 in ?Ireland? They had two other children, daughters I believe, who did not emigrate with them. In Rhode Island they had three more sons: James b. abt 1842, Francis George b. 25 Feb. 1853, and William b. 26 July 1859.

I am looking for Joseph Drummond's marriage to Catherine Caffrey information, emigration information on the family, daughters' information, and anything else that can verify his claim to be Irish as opposed to the DNA which leads back to Scotland. Joseph showed his parentage as Johnston Drummond and Eliza, his wife in Northern Ireland but I have been unable to connect this info time wise. The DNA connection doesn't lie but ancestors have been known to make up information.

I know it's a tall order but maybe someone knows this information. They have been so elusive.
