Many years ago, I read a story about the Drummonds in one of the crusades. They were supposedly from southeastern Europe and met the Scots on the crusade. They were such fierce fighters that the Scots invited them to go home with them to Scotland, so they packed up bag and baggage and followed the Scots home. For their loyalty to the Scots, they were given lands and titles and intermarried with the Scots. Have no idea how truthful the story is, but it sounded good. By the way, remember how slightly slanted the eyes were of the Gabor sisters from Hungary? I have one daughter whose eyes look that way and she looks a lot like Jane Drummond, my late husband's great grandmother, and she has heavy lidded eyes. She used to be very blond, but her hair is a natural silvery color now that she is in her late forties. A trait in my family and my husband's---platinum blond children--dark haired adults. My 1st baby doctor said he wouldn't have believed it if he hadn't seen it. He believed the Darwinian theory. Are your families that way? Iris
