Since filing my original query, I have obtained a
copy of the WORK FAMILY HISTORY, Volume II which
has an entry claiming that the parents of our John
DRUMMOND [?-1811] were John DRUMMOND and Rebecca
WORK [1792-1867/9]. Had discounted this connection
before because of the same surname for mother and
daughter-in-law, but WFH shows Rebecca and Sarah
as 3rd cousins 1x. The elder John D was killed at
the battle of Tippecanoe in 1811.

Does anyone know who John, Sr. parents were?

James DRUMMOND [1764-1843] and Nancy GRIFFITH
[?-?] are a possibility.
