Hi Russ, Thanks for posting this Drummond information. My hunch is that this Drummond line comes from the early Accomack Co VA families. Fletcher and Lucas families also lived in Accomack VA during the mid 1600's. Welborns and Drummond families of Accomack VA were related. (Thomas Welborn b c 1640 served in the Burgess representing Accomack plantation owners.) Side note here: Nathanial Bacon Jr. witnessed some land deeds for Thomas Welborn in 1699. One has to wonder what role, if any, Thomas Welborn played during the Rebellion. Welborn and Fletcher families are also related. (But not until c 1750). I've often wondered if Wm Drummond hanged for his role in Bacon's rebellion was related to the Accomack VA Drummonds. (As history notes, Gov Berkerly and his gang headed over to Accomack VA enlisting plantation owners there to help quell the rebellion. Welborns also lived in Fauquier Co VA, but left VA c 1770 for NC. Drummond Welborn also appears in census records in KY c 1800. So these connections often seem to go on for many generations. Thanks for the Fauquier Co VA information. Best wishes, Vikky Wilburn Anders Notify Administrator about this message?
