My maternal grandmother, Helen Drummond (sometimes shown as Nellie) was born in Ireland approximately 1882. She was the daughter of Patrick Drummond and Catherine Lynch Drummond. They came to the country in 1895. Helen married Michael McGrath 1903-1904. They lived on Courtlandt Avenue in the Bronx and had 3 children: John born 1905, Catherine (My mom) 1909 and Michael in 1914. Her husband Michael worked for the subway system and died sometime between March 1914 and April 1920). Helen died in March 1930 and was buried in St. Raymond's cemetary. I've applied for a marriage license using the dates 1903 and 1904 but haven't heard anything yet. I've written to the MTA asking if they have any records on Michael (my Mom always told me he was killed on the job) but I haven't heard anything from them either.
