I am an ancestor of Rebecca Drummond/Thomas Doswell. I have information about William Drummond of Bacon's Rebellion indicating that his father was John Drummond, b. abt. 1588 in Scotland, d. 1634, Inverness,Scotland; m. abt. 1618, Janet Hayes, daughter of William Hayes of Inverness, b. 1598, d. 1650. I have been trying to link my Rebecca to this William Drummond for some time now. Do you know who her father was? I have a record of the son of William Drummond/Sarah whose name was also William who was born in James City County and died in New Kent County 20 Sept. , 1723. I do not have a record of his wife's name or any isssue from this marriage. Could this be Rebecca Drummond Doswell's father? One family record I have says that Rebecca's mother was an Overton, but I cannot find proof of this. Please write. I have loads of Doswell information to share if you are interested.
