In the Driscoll DNA Project we are trying to figure out why there are two branches within the Driscoll genetic tree, i.e. Haplogroup I and Haplogroup R. History speaks of only one origin, their forbear, hEidirsceoil [born about 910 A.D.], descended from the Corca Laidhe clan.
To date we have many participants who can trace their ancestry to county Cork. What we need are some who can trace their ancestry to specific locales with Cork and to some of the other counties, especially Kerry.
