You mention a Thomas Drinkwater born in 1872 in Sandbach and also there is reference to canal boats.

My Great Grandfather was called Thomas Drinkwater and from the details I have on his death certificate he would have been born in 1872, from what I am told he worked on canal boats, on his death certificate his is listed as a Retired Waterman. The only other thing I can say for certain was that he died in Cheshire and most of my family on this side are from Cheshire.

I wonder if you have any further details that might confirm that your Thomas Drinkwater is the same person as mine.

I know nothing of Thomas' parents, but I know he was married to Alice Minshall and they had 4 children - Joseph (my grandfather), Thomas, Alfred & Emma Jane.
