I am looking for information on the Drinkwater family who lived and worked on the Trent and Mersey Canal in the mid 19th century and had land connections in Cheshire and Staffordshire. In particular,Alfred Drinkwater who was a Master for the Anderton Boat Co. He married Jane Ferday and they had four children,Sarah,Thomas,William,my grandfather, and Arthur.
