Native American Drinkwater's

I'am researching my stepdaughter's family the Drinkwater's. Her father John said they are originally Blackfoot Indians who's original name was Drinkingwater. It is very important that we find her ancestery because we are trying to finance her college through the native American funds. This girl has worked so very hard to keep a 3.75 or above GPA all through high school so she could attend a good college. Her mother is one fourth Mohecan. Her father lives on a reservation in California now but doesn't have any documentation of her ancestry. If anyone has any info on the Drinkingwater family of Blackfoot persuasion please post it .....Thank You TW Arnold
