As far as I know, the lineage ends with Mary's parents, Thomas and Mary (Butler) Dring. The info is somewhat sketchy but I do know that the birthdates of Thomas Dring (1666-?) and his wife, Mary Butler (1670-?) and their children were recorded in Little Compton vital records - I saw the original records at Little Compton office many years ago. The birth year of Mary Butler is the only one I do not agree --- how could she bear her youngest child in 1720 when she was 50? My guess is that she was probably born after 1675 but before 1680.

Unfortunately, we do not know when Thomas Dring came to the Colonies but from what I understand, he was an indentured servant. My cousin, Joseph Philip Dring (1898-1969) had done extensive research on this Dring family for many years and he corresponded with the Dring researchers in England on the English origin of Thomas Dring, but with no luck.

FYI, Joseph Dring's correspondence papers were probably disposed after the death of his wife, Ann in 1976. I wish I could be of help....
