Origin of Driggers Name

I recently learned of The Melungeons & I've read Brent Kennedy's book which says they started out with dark skin & blue eyes, but have been known to have blonde, brown, red, etc. There is an article listed at http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/
shows/secret/famous/drigger.html. This is quite interesting to read & this article also uses the Rodriguez name as the progenitor of the Driggers. Take time & read this article, as I'm pretty sure I am a descendent of the Melungeons, as my grandmother was supposedly full blood Black Dutch & this is one of the things Melungeons claimed, but the family has the blue, blue eyes. If you would like to reply, please E-mail me at kshill@hotmail.com. Thanks Sharon
