Doris, I have a Demetrus (Susy) Stanford that married William Driggers April 1939, Carroll Co, TN. The marriage lic says: Willard Drieggs and Demetrus Stanford, performed by Jesse Stanford, JP. They came to Texas Nov 1839. Harrison, Thomas all had land in Fannin Co. All reference to William first wife was Susy. After Susy died William married Frances, Susy sister. William son by Susy was living with Thomas on the 1870 census. The son name was Thomas Franklin.

I would love to share more if this is the same family as yours.Lee
