Let me reactivate the Driggers of Liberty/Long Co, GA thread.
While I am not a Driggers descendant I have some cousins who are. I have some basic questions but will share data with anyone interested.
1. Does anyone know what happened to Jusbern (Justin?) Driggers b c1834 and John Driggers b c1835, sons of John Driggers (c1798-1850/60) and wf Susan Gordon (c1796-1860/70) of McIntosh (now Liberty) Co, GA? Was John the John D (22 Feb 1837-22 Nov 1909) who married Harriet Jane Baxter (30 Aug 1845-1 Feb 1935)? I DO have a double Baxter descent.
2. Was Henry Johnson Driggers (c1842-aft 1880) grandson (not son as suggested in 1850 cens) of Susan (Gordon) Driggers? Susan was already c46 yo when he was born. Was his mother her dau Lamara?
3. Susan's dau Lamara obviously was mother of Charlton (b c1845 when Susan was c49) listed in Susan's home in 1850. Later he was listed in the household of Henry Brunson (Lamara's hb, she was his 2/w) as Charlton Brunson and seems to have used that name from then on. Can anyone sort out Henry Brunson's family, telling which children were by which wife? I have no idea exactly when his first wife Caroline died 1850/60. In 1860 Lamara was listed 2nd in the Henry Brunson household but called a Driggers. In 1870, with Henry apparently dead, she called herself Lamarie Brunson.
4. Does anyone know the connection of Elizabeth Wylly (b c1857 GA) who was listed in the 1870 cens in Henry Johnson Drigger's home on the line between his wife Julia Ann (b c1848 GA) and his first son? She was too old to be Julia's dau but perhaps was a sister or cousin? What was the Driggers' connection to Menta/Monta Ryals (male b c1850 GA) whose name appears first in the census records, but his occupation is "works on farm" while Henry's was "farmer", a somewhat reversal of roles. Usually the first named was the "farmer" and the other(s) "laborers".
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!
