Hi, my Jacob was escaping the Franco-Prussian war about 1872. He worked for the railroad and found his way to Evansville, IN. He married Maria Macke Titzer, a widow. He planned to return to Bavaria when he was 50. However, he died at 49. He had been writing to his family but we lost contact after he died.
