The 1930 census shows John W. Drew 48 living in Olyphant. He was born in England, immigrated in 1885 and was first married at 34. The household includes:
(wife) Mary E. 38, born in England, first married at 19 and immigrated in 1907,
(son) William 14
(son) Wilbert 14
(son) John E. 10
(daughter) Olive 8
(son) Warren 6
(daughter) Phylis 3 4/12
(step-son) Sidney Hulse 18
(step-daughter) Evelyn Hulse 15
Joshia Freeman 40, born in England, immigrated 1907
The 1920 census shows much the same info except it shows John W. as William and they lived in Thoap, Lackawanna County.
The 1910 census shows William Drew 27 living with his widowed mother Isabella 53, they immigrated in 1885.
The 1900 census shows Eliza Drew (male) born Jan 1849 in England living in Thoap. He was married 18 years, and immigrated in 1886. His wife Elizabeth was born March 1860 in Ireland. The family includes son William September 1883 in England.
John's WWI & WWII draft cards show he was born Sept 7, 1882 in England and was living in Thoap both times.
The ship's list for the "Lake Superior" which landed in NY March 31, 1887 includes:
Elisha Drew 35
Isabella 29
Dorothy 7
Margt 5
William 4
William Drew 27
Fred Drew 23
The 1871 English census from Saham Toney, Norfolk County includes a Fred, William and Elisha 19 as the sons of William Drew 54 and Mary A. 44. William and Mary moved to another part of Norfolk County by 1881. I could not find Elisha in the 1881 census.
Some of these records you can look at for free at labs.familysearch.org and Ancestry.com. For those you cannot see for free I suggest checking with your local libraries to see if they have Ancestry or Heritage Quest.
Check with the Genealogical Research Society of Northeast Pennsylvania in Olyphant to see if they can help you especially with finding burial places and obituaries. You might also check with the Lackawanna County Register of Wills Office to see if they have John and Mary's marriage from ca 1916. It could have info on the parents. The same office may have an estate file for Elisha and perhaps his death record if he died before 1906. If he died after 1905 and Isabella apparently did I suggest getting their death certificates from the PA Div. of Vital Records.
The Scranton Family History Center may be able to help you too.
