Claude: In the 1850 census of Lauderdale County, MS, which was taken on the 15th of November 1850, you will find the following: James Drew 44, born in SC Eliza Drew 36, born in AL James Drew 11, born in MS Frona J. (or I) Drew 9 (or 7), born in MS Samuel Drew 6, born in MS Harriet Drew 4, born in MS Angelesia F. Drew 2, born in MS (Source: the actual census image as viewed at www.ancestry.com.) I cannot reconcile the ages of James and Eliza with the ages you found in the 1840 census, and the age of Eliza which I found in the 1860 census, but ages are not always correct in census records. The "3" in Eliza's age was very difficult to decifer, but I could not make it out to be a "2" when I compared the digit to other numbers on the same page. This census entry would make more sense if the ages of James and Eliza were 34 and 26, respectively. Also, I doubled checked and the place given for the elder James' birth was definitely SC, not NC. The Harriet in this census could be the same Harriet living in the Freeman household in 1860. Hope you can make sense out of this information. I think there might be a connection.
