My uncle Willis "Bill" Russell Drew was born May 19, 1902 in Albany, Dougherty County, GA and grew up in Thomas/Grady county. He died March 04, 1971 in Los Angeles County, California from injuries sustained in the Sylmar earthquake on February 09, 1971 when the VA Hospital there collapsed.
I'm looking for any information on his immediate family. I know his father was William "Mac" Drew and his mother, Martha Alice MacMillan/McMillan. He was the youngest of his family. His brothers were Joseph, Acy Herbert, John Rockwell and Roscoe Louis. His sisters were Lena, Lydia and Mamie. Lydia married Howard Threlkeld who was the son of the man who was convicted of the murder of her father. One of the sisters married a judge. Roscoe was a retired Railroad employee. I believe the other brothers were in the tobacco industry.
My mother once told me that Willis had been married at least once. Is there anyone out there who may know who this/these woman/women is/are? Were there any children? If so, who were they? I have a picture of the brothers and sisters and what looks to be maybe a brother-in-law.
