Your reply re:Dayton/Drew/Barrymore connection is indeed interesting because of your info about Joseph John Deighton, which was the spelling used by the Daytons in England and until the first of my ancestors arrived in New England, 8th (g)grandfather Ralph Dayton, who was recorded in New Haven with the old spelling (1639). In England, Ralph and his father, Wm. Deighton, were b. in Ashford, Kent. From my 10th (g)grandfather Deighton back to the 16th, all were from Deighton, York, England (to 1360). I do not have the generation where the Drews and Daytons came together, but assumed it was in New England or in Illinois. Wish I could help; will send any Drew info as I find it. Thank you for your prompt assistance.
