The Jagsthausen Parish Register states that she is daughter of Wolff Adolph
Rathgeber. "The Family of John Tressler and Elizabeth Loy Tressler,"
privately printed by The Tressler Orphans Home, Loysville, PA for the family,
gives the parents for Eva Magdalena shown in this database (and not
verified).

smith, legitimate son of Johann Jacob Dressler, citizen and smith here, and
Anna Barbara, legitimate daughter left by deceased Bartholomaus Bernhardt,
former farmer at Beinberg, District Liebenzell, Duchy of Wurtemberg; bans
published on 9th, 10th, 11th Sundays after Trinity, and married on Sept. 10,
1737." Resided at Grimsville, Berks Co., PA

His German name was Johan Andreas Dressler II. He served in the War for
Independence. In 1749 he moved to Goshenhoppen, Berks Co., PA and in 1800 to
Loysville, Perry Co., PA. He m. (2) Catharine Hamman. "Hist. of
Northumberland Co., PA," by Floyd (1911), p. 754: "Andrew Dressler, son of
John, was born May 28, 1746, in Germany, near a 'dorf' called 'Yakst,' near
the 'Schwabeland.' He was three years old when brought to America." "Jonathan
and Joseph Tressler and Their Descendants," a small booklet by Albert Willis
Tressler (1948) reports (p. 1): "Andrew Tressler, May 28, 1747 - Oct. 21,
1828) was the son of Johann Andreas Dressler who evidently arrived at
Philadelphia, Pa. Sept. 13, 1749 on the ship Christian. They had come from
near Yakthause (Jagdhaus) in Wurtemberg, Germany." - the book follows the
emigrant's sons, Jonathan and Joseph.
NOTE: Ancestry of John Andrew Tressler is from June Parr, R. R. 2 - Box 41,
Heyworth, IL 61745 (2/95) and is NOT verified.
Maria:
She could be the Maria Elizabetha Loy who was baptized 08 July 1744 at the New
Hanover Church. She and husband Johann Andrew Tressler had 12 children.
