I am the descendant of a set of Dresslers from Weldon, Illinois---I don't know whether they are related to yours. My great-great-great-grandfather Henry Dressler came to Weldon from Pirmasens, Germany with his wife Kate (Krummet) Dressler in the early 1860's---he was born in Germany on March 21, 1826. They had at least eight children: Fred, Henry, Louis, Theodore, Rose, Caroline, Kate, and Mrs. Louis Bayless. I got this information from a family obituary; all of these children's places of residence are listed, and none of them is from Chicago---at least, not in 1919, when the obituary was written. I know this may not be quite what you were hoping for, Sharon, but I wish you the best of luck all the same!
