Also, my mother said that Casper was in the German Army, was shining his boots, and when his Sargent told him he wasn't doing it fast enough, Casper threw a boot at him. She said it was then that he realized that he had better get out FAST. He caught the first boat out and after arriving in America wrote to his girl friend to come to America to marry him. She said that they got married the same day she stepped off the train (I guess from New York to Pittsburgh).
