Since I posted that query regarding Maria Dreisbach I have discovered that I was chasing the wrong clues. I had gotten the information form a descendency line posted on World Family Tree but became suspicious when I discovered that some of the other information in that posting was just plain wrong. Since then I have discovered Matthew Kugler's wife was not Maria Dreisbach at all, but a woman named Mary Ziegler, who was the daughter of Martin Ziegler and Christina Cramer. At least she was German, if not a Dreaisbach. Where the Dreisbach name came from I have no idea. It just proves that it pays to know one's sources. It is of course possible, as you suggest, that Mary Ziegler was first married to a Dreisbach, but I have no information to that effect.
