My husband's family came from Lincolnshire. The earliest one they have found is Joseph Rattan in the parish of Bottesford. Their oldest child was Dewcock, christened 3 June 1766. William Drayton was the first in the US in about 1848. They came first to New York and then to Michigan.
If this is any help or if you have more information let me know.
One of my husband's cousins has written a small book from Joseph forward.
