Hello Hank, Did I ever get in touch w/you? If not, I apologize; too many senior moments I fear, and also, this might mean that I was never notified of your message. Have just posted in response to some Buffalo Soldier info of the DRAYTONS, hoping for info abt an EMMA DRAYTON who was sold away according to info on a FREEDMEN'S BANK RECORD for JOHN LEACH. My research for which I am at a standstill is of the WEEDEN,WHILDEN,WEELDON/BROWN AA/Native family line which I have worked on for 13yrs w/o making ANY connections---???? JACOB and CHLOE LEACH are listed as the parents of EMMA, JOHN LEACH and WM WHILDEN; BELIEVE that WM WHILDEN, may have been my ggrandfather who is listed as WM WEELDON, in 1870 Wilmington, NC census. Trying my best to find ANY info on this WM, who I believe may have been a slave of the WHEELDON/WHILDEN family of Christ Church and Sumter, SC. Hope something here is of interest, and that you will contact me. Sincerely, carol wheeldin warren. Notify Administrator about this message?
