Sorry to be so late in answering; According to the book " Peebles Ante 1600 -1962 " pg.7 par.6 " Before Rice Hoe sued for Sarah's estate, William Peebles, the oldest son of David,had arrived from Scotland. He came to stay, and took over his father's affairs. At Court Dec.3, 1661, John Compton was ordered to pay him a bill due. About a year later, he married Judeth, a ward of John Drayton. His receipt for her "porcon" (portion) was recorded at Court Feb.3 1662/3 " Now to complicate things, p.8 par 8 On june 7, 1651 -- James Ward -- he "assigned and set over" unto Mrs Elizabeth Peebles the 150 acre patent. p.8 par 9 June 14, 1665 John Drayton (Jr) obtained a patent to the Ward Tract " as marring the said Elizabeth " The book " Peebles Ante " has proven mistakes,however it was started in the 1930's and the authur actualy did research the hard way.
