Stephen Drane and Rebecca Wilson Drane were my ggggrandparents. My lineage is through their daughter, Georgia Rebecca, who married Dr. Andrew J. Sanders.
I'm presently seeking information on Susan Eugenia Drane Reynolds child by Stephen's 2nd marriage to Susan Hambrick in 1860. Susan went on to become involved in education and there is a school named after her in the "Augusta area." I visited GA in 1983 and as we were driving to the old "Drane Homestead" we passed this school (I think it's elementry) and the driver pointed it out saying, "That's name after one of your Stephen's daughters." We didn't stop and I really don't know where it is.
Any Georgians out there who could help me w/locating this school? I'd like to get some background history on it. Any help will be appreciated. Please contact me via personal email; I don't check my various forums often.
BTW, I have tombstone pics of Willam & Cassandra Drane (Stephen's parents); Stephen and his two wifes; and Dr. Andrew J. & Georgia Rebecca Drane Sanders if anyone is interested. Janis
