First- William is not actually my line-nor any Drane's for that matter.
I do have a connection in the form of William's son Dr William H Winfrey who married Mary Eugenia Nesbitt Brown-sister to my George A Brown-

So I have not tried for proof on your William-but to sort out the children-for other purposes.

I have recently done a lot of Columbia Co. Ga. work-on my Roberts-and I can tell you there is quite a bit there on William and his wife's family.

And I have this small bit-
He was recruited in Patriot's Army and within sixteen miles of Yorktown when Cornwallis surrendered.
Rev Sol Md 10-31-1792.

I can also tell you that DAR has gotten a lot stricter, and other members-have closed lines. I closed TWO of those I used in earlier years, when I found the proof did not exist.

And you may not have given the right information- I don't know.

He may also have been local militia.

I would look for land records in draws only for Rev. Sol and their widows, orphans etc. I would look at a good library.
