I do not have Drane's, I do not have Pyles or Sanford- However I do have family that connets to them, as well as some you have not mentioned... And I do have material on them-of course-as you know-you have to prove it all-but this is a "start". Just sharing. I am however a DAR Member-with many soldiers to my credit. James Anthony Drane Jr- Lt-born Aug 1753 Prince George Md. died Oct 1828 He married 18 Feb 1789 Prince George Co MD. Wife Priscilla Lamar- probably is of my Lamar family-and I have 2 more Generaitions back on her Lamar-and more on other lines-but you did not mention this couple. If you want children etc. E-mail me (Not here)(No DAR Documentation) His brother William Piles Drane-Rev. Sol. I also have some on too-his wife Cassandra McGruder-and their Grandson William Winfrey did marry my ancestors sister-I have posted lots on here-and just did an update. And there will be lots on the others-if you do a search. and these few notes, which include a little documentation William acquired 1500 acres of land and 43 slaves. He was recruited in Patriot's Army and within sixteen miles of Yorktown when Cornwallis surrendered. Rev Sol Md 10-31-1792. From Talbot Co. Ga. 1850 Census William M. Drane 19 and Walter Drane no age in home of James B. Jackson 25 NC Methodist Preacher..$500 wife Electra as students. Will Columbia Co. Ga. S 8-29-1846 P 3-3-1847 Kin to him somehow-Sallie Drane died Talbot Co. Ga.Jul 8, 1908 Piles from http://awt.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=:2782381&id=I559794509 (You will find most brothers entered together-same unit etc.) His Father-and the couple you did mention... James Anthony Drane & Elizabeth M. Nichols- I have a lot, and there is a lot here.Again, if you need more than you find here-e-mail me-NOT HERE- And the two James Anthony's before him-and Robert Brent---All on this forum, I am sure. James Anthony Jr & Priscilla Lamar- four children and more on only James-I looked at the line as you have it-and did not have the connection. Gastavious 1789 James 1792 Richard 1798 Marien 1799 There is probably more on here there too-and having names helps.... James E married Margaret Frazee and the only male child I know is Thomas Marion 1842-1925 He had a Jr...but all this is too late to include what you gave. It is the line of Larry Drane-that I also put a note on today-asking for his new E-mail address. I don't know if Larry still does, but he put out a Drane Newsletter for years. What I have DONE IN THE PAST- and what I would suggest you do- is send the line from the bottom-with spaces in the middle- and ASK FOR A COPY OF THE PAPERS that nearest resemble this line. I would buy several- I am sure the current price is on line. NOT SURE if you need to go through a member or not- BUT, I know you have to work with a local chapter-tentatively join before-and they will work with you-the Registrar of that chapter. They will introduce you at a meeting and give you much help you will need to get this project finished. In my day-they were not as diligent at proof as now-and in the first few years after I joined-I CLOSED FOREVER two of the lines I used. Not good...after I did my proving as I should have in the beginning, with EARLY CENSUS etc. Get all proof inbetween on what you KNOW-before you proceed. Have, including your kids- Birth, Marriage, and yours, and Your parents-all death certificates and proof of the two and three things on EACH. After 1850 the Census gets EASIER-but the 1870 is on line free here- and a search is reasonable easy. FamilySearch.com (Which is the Morman-Church of Latter Day Saints) site. Also, many others are on here-by state, county etc. USGENWEB.com Get your state, get your county- and see what is available. More is available- by purchasing a membership in Ancestry, or going to any Morman Church and ordering for a small cost (A very few dollars more to actually buy them that copy-leave it at the library-but come any time they are open to search again.) Also-Ancestry, Heritage and other things you have to pay to join-are free at most library Genealogy Library's. I would suggest you also join a local Genealogy Society, and they willingly give our free advise on how to's. Any Federal Census building has census that are available, and most libraries have a few states, and a lot in that state. On INTERLIBRARY LOAN- a lot more can be ordered-free. On Line there are state libraries that have a lot free to look at-such as Va. State Lib. in Raleigh NC who put the 1700's bible copy I sent them, and much much more online for free. That's a START FOR YOU Ms. Gerry Hill- Albany Ga. Notify Administrator about this message?
